Catalog & Collection

The Most Essential Aspects of The Library

Our library catalog is available for you to login and request items with your library card, renew items, and pay fines online. You can also opt in to save your reading history and create lists (TBR list, anyone?). Our system, PrairieCat, connects us to 130+ libraries in the area, including New Lenox Public Library and Homer Glen Public Library. While Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Frankfort are not part of PrairieCat, patrons who have a card from these libraries may still check out items at Mokena Library but will just need to be added to the system first. Begin searching through our catalog of over 80,000 items.

Study Spaces

Study Rooms

Study rooms are available first come, first serve. You may check into a study room at the service desk and are guaranteed usage for up to 2 hours. If no one is waiting, you may stay in the room longer, but you may be asked to leave the room if another patron requests a room. You may reserve a study room one time a week ahead of time with the service desk. Only 4 people allowed per room. Please be mindful of your neighbors, and please vacate the study rooms 15 minutes prior to the library closing.

Quiet Study Carrels

We also have a quiet zone with multiple study carrels for your quiet needs. The library is a sanctity for silence still. Please enjoy some peace and quiet while you work.

Technology

Copier Printer

Copy & Print

Our public copy machine is available for use all hours of operation.

You can print wirelessly to our printer by uploading documents from our print upload page OR by forwarding an email to our printing email address. Please see staff or visit the library in person for the print email address.

Anything you send to the printer remotely (via print upload page or through our printing email) will stay in our print queue for only 24 hours. Please note that staff may not be able to retrieve your job if it was sent more than 24 hours ago.

After you send your document(s), please visit the copy center in our library to release your print job(s) from the print station. Here you can type in the user name/card number or first half of your email address (before the @) to retrieve your job. If you get stuck, please see staff for assistance.

If you need help with the printer or copier, please see staff at the reference or service desks; we are happy to help.
