Study Spaces

Study Rooms

Study rooms are available first come, first serve. You may check into a study room at the service desk and are guaranteed usage for up to 2 hours. If no one is waiting, you may stay in the room longer, but you may be asked to leave the room if another patron requests a room. You may reserve a study room one time a week ahead of time with the service desk. Only 4 people allowed per room. Please be mindful of your neighbors, and please vacate the study rooms 15 minutes prior to the library closing.

Quiet Study Carrels

We also have a quiet zone with multiple study carrels for your quiet needs. The library is a sanctity for silence still. Please enjoy some peace and quiet while you work.

Group Study Space

You might also try group study throughout the many seating areas in the library.

The most essential aspects of the library: our catalog and collection.

Our library catalog is available for you to login and request items with your library card, renew items, and pay fines online. You can also opt in to save your reading history and create lists (TBR list, anyone?).

Our system, PrairieCat, connects us to 130+ libraries in the area, including New Lenox Public Library and Homer Glen Public Library. While Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Frankfort are not part of PrairieCat, patrons who have a card from these libraries may still check out items at Mokena Library but will just need to be added to the system first. Click on the icon below or to the right to begin searching through our catalog of over 80,000 items.

  • Black and white copies/prints are $0.15 per page
  • Color copies/prints are $1.00 per page
  • The pay tower accepts coins, dollars, and credit card.
  • The credit card will show it’s working by showing a $30.00 balance; it will not charge you this amount, only the amount you print/copy.
  • To get the copy machine to copy, select COPY from the pay tower screen, then move to the copy machine to copy.
  • To print from the printer, scan your card or guest pass at the pay tower to release your jobs. You can add money to your library card at the pay station or at the service desk.
  • Please see the service desk if you need assistance; we are happy to help!

Scan & Fax Station

Our self-service scanning and faxing station is available first come first serve. The scanner/fax will scan double sided on the document feeder or you can choose to scan on the book scanner.

Faxing is free to Mokena residents. You can add a digital cover page through the fax machine if you like, and you can choose to get a confirmation page from the touch screen prompts.

This touch screen scanning and faxing station couldn’t be easier, but please see staff if you need assistance.
