Teen Book Review Volunteer Program
Love reading and want to earn volunteer hours? Try out our Teen Book Review Volunteer Program! This program is open to teens and young adults (ages 11-18) who enjoy reading and sharing their thoughts about books. Volunteers will have the opportunity to read new or recently acquired titles from the library and write thoughtful, original reviews.
Earn 3 volunteer hours for each approved review (up to 2 reviews per month).
Your reviews may be featured in the Mokena Library or our online platforms.
This is a great way to build writing skills, connect with fellow readers, and support your community—all from the comfort of home.
How it works:
Select a NEW book (any genre) from the Young Adult or Teen collection at the Mokena Community Public Library. New books have the red NEW label on the spine
Write a well-written review following our template that summarizes the book and shares your honest opinion—no spoilers!
Submit your review for approval. Note: Please allow a minimum of two weeks for staff to review and issue volunteer credit.
